The Research Group AGI (Art, Globalization, Interculturality) presents the sixth edition of the training seminar ON MEDIATION, a theoretical and practical study program on curatorship, which is addressed to artists, curators, critics, students, researchers, art historians and other collectives interested in the exhibition-making processes beyond disciplines.

Given the growing professionalism of the figure of the curator, we believe that it is necessary to deepen the analysis of contemporary curatorial practices understood as a mechanism of mediation, thinking beyond the specialized role and generating debate about the cultural space of this mediation (Lars Bang Larsen & amp; Soren Andresen, 2006). The ON MEDIATION initiative responds to the need to offer a comprehensive training program that provides tools for the creation of an exhibition comprising the phases of production, mediation, and communication.

The ON MEDIATION / 6 program is articulated in two interconnected stages: first, the theoretical phase, given by curators of recognized international experience, where different perspectives that identify different ways of doing that impel the curatorial practice towards a postdisciplinary scenario will be addressed. Starting from the theoretical sessions and the work materials provided, the participants will make the proposal of an exhibition project that will be later evaluated.

The training program corresponding to the practical phase consists in the formation of a collective, which will have the opportunity to develop the ideas worked on in the theoretical phase in the materialization of a curated tutorial project, which will be presented in June 2019 in one of the spaces of the artistic ecosystem of the city (to be confirmed). The work sessions will enhance the interweaving of knowledge and will enable work and common decision making. All registered participants will receive a certificate of attendance, online work material, personalized tutoring and specific monitoring of projects.
