José M. Santa Cruz (Santiago of Chile, 1983), graduate in Cinema of ARCIS University (2005) and M.A. in History and Theory of Art of University of Chile (2008). He is author of “Imagen-Simulacro: Estudios de cine contemporáneo” [1], Editorial Metales Pesados (2010) and co-editor of “El cine que fue: 100 años de cine chileno” , Editions ARCIS (2011). He was creator and coordinator of Research Area of Film School of ARCIS University (2009-2011).

He has been published in various academic and divulgation journals, including, Aisthesis Journal (Santiago-Chile), Web of Center of Visual Studies of Chile (Santiago-Chile) and Chilean Journal of Visual Anthropology (Santiago-Chile). Also in a book, “La emergencia de los recursos en el cine” (Editorial University of Viña del Mar, editor Christian Miranda Colleir, 2011).

Currently, he is editing the book “Audiovisual y Política: territorios en conflicto y reconfiguración” (Editions ARCIS and Aesthetic Institute of P. Catholic University of Chile), is preparing the second volume about contemporary cinema, and working on his PhD research in Art History at Barcelona University (2011-2015) with the thesis: “Extremo cinematográfico: de la posmodernidad al postcine (1980-2010)” with Professor Anna Maria Guasch.
