Eirini Grigoriadou is art historian and visual artist. She studied Painting at the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Awarded the postgraduate degree (D.E.A.) of the Doctoral Programme (Painting in the Digital Age: Affinity and Specificity) from the University of Barcelona (UB) Faculty of Fine Arts (2001-2003). She has also awarded the postgraduate degree (D.E.A.) of the Doctoral Programme (History, Theory and Critic of Arts: Catalan Art and International Connections) from the University of Barcelona (UB) Faculty of Geography and History (2003-2005). She holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Barcelona, in the first class with commendation (Excellent Cum Laude). PhD thesis: El archivo y las tipologías fotográficas. De la Nueva Objetividad a las nuevas generaciones de fotógrafos en Alemania: 1920-2009. [The Archive and the Photographic Typologies. From the New Objectivity to the New Generation of Photographers in Germany: 1920-2009]. Supervisor: Professor Anna Maria Guasch Ferrer, (2006-2011). In 2012, she was awarded an ‘Exceptional Doctorate Prize’ (Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado) for her doctoral thesis and for the academic year 2010/2011 from the University of Barcelona.
She has to her credit many research papers and scientific articles, which have appeared in Spanish, English and Greek publications in academic art journals. She has also delivered lectures in seminars at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA), at the Complutense University of Madrid, at the University of Barcelona (UB). She is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA-Hellas) and of the Association of Greek Art Historians (EEIT). In 2018, she is teaching Theory and History of Photography in relationship with the Visual Arts at the Plastic Arts and Sciences of Art Department, University of Ioannina, Greece.
