Diana Padrón Alonso (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1984) is an independent researcher and curator. She is graduated in Art History at University of La Laguna. She recived M.A. Advanced Studies of Art History at University of Barcelona and PhD in Society and Culture: History, Anthropology, Arts, Heritage and Cultural Management at the same university, with the thesis The Cartographic Impulse. Cartographic Behaviors of Contemporary Art in the Era of Delocated Capitalism. 1957-2017. Since 2012, she has been collaborating with Art Globalization Interculturality research group and the project Critic Cartography of Art and Visuality in the Global Era: New methodologies, concepts and analytical approaches, under the supervision of Chair Professor Anna María Guasch. She has been coordinator of On Mediation. Platform on Research and Curatorship and co-editor of REG|AC journal (Journal of Global Studies and Contemporary Art) at University of Barcelona. She has also collaborated with various contemporary art journals and magazines as Atlántica, Roulotte o Interartive, and she has publicated into several catalogs, volumes and monographs edited by Centro Nacional de las Artes Ciudad de Mexico, Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno and Cambridge Scholars Publishing, among others. She has given conferences, talks, teaching and workshops for University of Barcelona, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Escola EINA, Escola Massana, Arts Santa Mónica, La Térmica – Málaga, Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno, Centro Nacional de las Artes de Ciudad de México and Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst- Wien. She has also been teacher at AVTM International Workshop (Buró de Arte Contermporáneo – Ciudad de México). On curatorship field, she has curated exhibitions for Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (Gregorio González), Pabellón Mies van der Rohe (Peter Weibel), Museu Picasso de Barcelona (Benet Rossell) and 13 Bienal de La Habana – Centro Galego de Arte Contemporanea (Max de Esteban). She has been part of Loop Videoart Festival curator team, where she has developed other curatorial devices (Claudio Zulian, Javier Peñafiel, Erick Beltrán). As an independent curator, she has also coordinated various independent projects as the self-managed initiative Perder el Norte (Beyond the North). During 2013/2014 she was implementing a research residency at Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) about cartographic impulse in MACBA Collection, with the collaboration of Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (CAAM). She has collaborated in colective projects with Idensitat cultural producer, as Post devices. Artistic practices and networks of citizen action in post-crisis contexts (2014), Translocations. Temporal experiences, artistic practices and local contexts (2014-2015) and Spaces Zombies (2015). She has also participated in contemporary thought seminars organizated by international centers and institutions, wich were led by Jacques Rancière, Giorgio Agamben, Walter Mignolo, Néstor García Canclini and George Didi-Huberman, among others; as well as worhshops conducted by artists as Domenec, Iconoclacistas, Todo x La Práxis, Straddle3, Raumlabor, Santiago Cirugeda, Nicolas Malevé, Imogen Stidworthy, Regina de Miguel, Nina Fischer & Maroan el Sani, Société Réaliste, Elena Reygadas, Benjamin Mayer, Abraham Cruzvillegas, Francesco Careri and Gabriel Hernández.
