Christian Alonso is curator, researcher, coordinator of trainning programs and teacher at the Departament of Art History of the University of Barcelona, where he is currently finishing his doctoral thesis under the direction of  Anna Maria Guasch (Universitat de Barcelona) and Rick Dolphijn (Utrecht Universiteit). His research focus on the analysis of  artistic and curatorial practices from the perspective of environmental and social sustainability, a topic he has been exploring from curatorial and writing practice and writing. He has been teacher at the Art History degree Historia del Arte (Universitat de Barcelona), History degree (Universitat de Barcelona) and Fine Arts degree (Universitat de Barcelona). He has coordinated a large number of international conferences, simposia, seminars on art, research, mediation and critical thought. He has designed, coordinated and taught in a wide range of trainning programs addressed to artists, curators, and cultural producers involving different local, national and international institutions, covering the phases of ideation, production, and dissemination of  artistic projects. He is author of Recomposicions Maquíniques (Edicions de la Universitat de Barcelona, 2019) and editor of Mutating Ecologies in Contemporary Art (Edicions de la Universitat de Barcelona, 2019). He has been curator of numerous exhibitions on contemporay art, where he has involved in processes of mediation, coordination, and production of artistic publications and catalogues. Fellow visiting researcher at Center for the Humanities (Utrecht, Netherlands) supervised by Rosi Braidotti (2016). He has been reviewer in academic journals such as Cercle d’Art Revista de arte interdisciplinar (Universidad de Barcelona), Revista Sin Objeto – Arte, Investigación, Políticas (Universidad de Castilla la Mancha), and Artnodes, Arte, Ciencia y Tencología (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya). He is member of the Catalan Association of Art Critics since 2015 and he is co-founder of the non-profit cultural association Càlam: Art, Educació, Sostenibilitat. He earned a BA in çArt History at the University of Barcelona (2012), Master in Advanced Studies in Art History at the University of Barcelona with the final project Artistic Practice to the Post-natural Condition of Society, 2000-2013 (2013). Recently he has been researcher of the Spanish Ministry of Economy though a 4-year scholarhip-contract with the project Ecosophical Aesthetics and Posthuman Production of Subjectivity in the Era of Semiocapitalism,1989-2019.
